Are you able to offer a new loving home?

This 4 year old wire coat female has been Spayed, Microchiped, Vaccinated,
Wormed, Vet health checked, Bathed & Groomed.
She is happy with other dogs & cats, Walks super on the lead & enjoys her walks. Has a happy disposition once settled with the sweetest of natures.

Not to be left on her own and never has been.

Loves to sit on your lap & watch TV and is happiest by your feet & in your room when it comes to night time.

News Update   27th October 2011

We are very pleased to report that this young lady has now found a new home and can be seen here with one of her new owners. She almost seems to be smiling with pleasure at her good fortune. We understand that she has proved to be a dog & cat friendly girl, loves her walks and has settled in just a treat. Brian & Mandy have sent huge thanks for her and on behalf of the Club we extend our thanks to them for giving this girl a wonderful new home.

If you feel you could offer a loving home to a Podengo in need, please contact our Resscue Co-Ordinator as it is always helpful to have homes on hand should the need arise.

September 2011

The Club has received a donation of £26.00 from The Basset Griffon Vendeen Club for the joint Seminar and Puppy Show they held earlier this year.

Our thanks go to them and all Members who were able to support the event.

25th October 2010

It is with great sadness that the Club has learned of the death of Valerie Andrews, we would like to offer our sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Valerie was a wonderful character and a staunch supporter of the Club, pictured right at our last Fun Day with her Podengo 'Cleo' and Ibizan Hound 'Beaulah'.  She will be much missed at our Club events.

'Cleo' is being taken into care by her breeder Betty Judge and the Club Welfare would be pleased to hear from anyone who would be interested in adopting this charming Podengo, she is 4 years old, spayed and fully house trained.

News Update  -  1st December 2010

'Cleo' has now been re-homed and has a loving new home with another Podengo for company and has settled in very well.

December 2009

Hugest congratulations to Betty Judge for her amazing achievement of becoming the Top Breeder of All Breeds in the UK for 2009 in the Our Dogs/Viyo elite Top Breeder Competition. Betty scored an impressive 66 points from the Rare Breeds Section with her nearest competitor from breeds with CC's at 47 points, making her the clear leader on their points system.

We are sure that all Club Members would like to join in applauding Betty for this accolade and for flying the flag for the Portuguese Podengo in the UK with such style.

At Leeds Championship Show, eleven year old Antonia Leech and her Arranbourne Bandeira for Jamchala (Luis) made breed history. They came first in the Young Kennel Club Stakes (Hound) class under Mrs Sue Virgo, which won them a place in the YKC Stakes Finals at Crufts 2010 - the first time ever that a Podengo has reached these Finals.
Earlier on in the day they also came first in the YKC Hound and Gundog Handling class, aged 6 to 11 years, under Mrs S Metcalfe-Bilgin.

Congratulations go to Dina, Nashnall Aldina at Caldermist, who has passed her GOLD Kennel Club Good Citizen test.

Consistent with her Bronze and Silver awards, she passed her Gold at the first attempt, quite a feat.

Angela & George Pedder said "We are so very proud of our girl and this super achievement which we feel also helps to reflect the versatility of our special little breed."
